Learn to Spin Wool - Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Wash, tease, card, and spin fleece using a drop spindle. Learn the basics of the wool wheel. Make a small project with your spun yarn. Donations support Educational Programs at the site. |

Visions of Christmas 1861 - Saturday, 2-6 p.m. Join the Haynes family as they celebrate a Civil War Christmas. Holiday music, refreshments, and activities in the museum for children. Admission charged. |

Stories from the Pumpkin Patch - Saturday, 4-8p.m. Listen to stories around a bonfire or in the cave, take a hayride around the grounds, activites for children during daylight hours. Enjoy a hot dog roast with all the trimmings. First annual Pumpkin Patch Scarecrow Contest. Bring a lawn chair or blanket & spend the evening. Admission charged. |

Summers Past History Program - From June 29- July 27
Six sessions Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. where children age 6-12 learn about their local history through historical based crafts, archaeology, games, music, storytelling, & trips to the cave. Andre Michaux Day - Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. Come early & enjoy Breakfast with the Birds. Native plant sale at 9 followed by a dedication of a State Historic Marker honoring Michaux with State Senator Rusty Crowe at 10. Special guest will be Andre Michaux portrayed by Carlie Williams. At 1 p.m. join Samantha Loftin for "The How and Why of Growing Herbs in containers." Donations supports the historic gardens. |

Maple Syrup Making - Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. A familt oriented event showing the process from gathering sap to boiling it down for syrup. A free pancake breakfast for current or new members. Donations support the special garden programs. |
