Tipton-Haynes State Historic Site offers a wide variety of options for field trips that will provide your students with a day of educational fun. Tipton-Haynes encourages teachers and their students from all grade levels to come and enjoy our site and history. Below is listed several options to choose from per grade level when scheduling a field trip. Click on an option for more information on what is provided. For K – 4th and the 5th & 6th grade levels, a tour of the house and the cave is required. Also for these grade levels, two to four of the historic based activities can be selected per trip.

Tipton-Haynes can accommodate group sizes of up to 100 students. Groups larger than 100, may split their group into two and come for two consecutive days. Upon arriving at the site, the group needs to be broken into smaller groups of 8 to 12 students. Also, each smaller group must have at least one adult chaperon. Three to four hours will allow you and your students ample of time to complete each activity. Students and chaperons should dress comfortable per the weather and should wear appropriate shoes for exploring the cave and woods. Plus, the site has several picnic tables and encourages your group to eat lunch on site.

The cost for each student to participate is $6.00, while teachers and chaperons are free. We request your payment in full upon arrival. Reservations for field trips are made on a first come first serve basis and are required to be made at least three weeks in advance.
